I’m a native Vermonter (a dying breed??) from Springfield originally. I’m lucky because radio was something that I knew I wanted to do from the time I was 11 years old. The first stop was our hometown station WCFR in Springfield. The traveling started and in the mid 70’s I ended up as night jock at WDOT and had the time of my life! The 658-0014 request line was busy all night---the Monday and Tuesday night live broadcasts from Arthur’s were a blast! I got fired…..and then re-hired by WDOT owner Bill Hunter. Looking back onto it now from my old age he was totally justified! It was time to move on and stops were made at WKBR in Manchester, NH, WPTR in Albany, WAQY is Springfield, MA and onto Oklahoma City! Vermont beckoned again and I came home to own a small station in Poultney WVNR! I moved to the Champlain Valley in 1994 and am happy to call it home! It’s great having DOT-FM back on the air in the Champlain Valley and I feel like a lot of fun in my radio life is back!!
